Vision

The College is dedicated to providing knowledge that encompasses inclusive academic study, achieving intellectual excellence, inculcating leadership quality, and rigorous military training in order to meet the current challenges of the country.

The College strives to bring strong emphasis on character building, personality development, and inculcation of the spirit of patriotism and of Islamic ideals. Moreover, in order to bring the country at par with the developed nations, the cadets at the College are equipped with basic scientific and technological knowledge while embarking them to venture on the path of scientific discovery in their future. Thus the College provides an outstanding platform to the wards of this nation to become responsible, productive, well-groomed, and well-educated citizens putting our country on the pedestal of development and prosperity. Hence, the country will certainly attain a prestigious position in the comity of nations on the global landscape.

Objective

The main objective of the College is to prepare Cadets for Secondary and Intermediate Examinations conducted by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan.In addition to this, we aim at providing quality education coupled with Islamic Ideology, traditions and culture to mould the young generation into true Muslims, patriotic citizens and effective leaders in all walks of life to shoulder the responsibilities with courage, credibility and confidence.

Physical Training is also compulsory part of the routine followed in the College to make the Cadets physically fit and to prepare them for induction in Pakistan armed forces. However, they are free to pursue any field of study and take up any career after the completion of studies in the College.

College Administration

Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi is under the control and management of the Board of Governors (BOG). Commander 11 Corps is the Chairman BOGs.

Staff

The College has highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, divided into various departments, each headed by a senior member. The Army Staff comprising the Adjutant of the rank of Captain, and seven drill/ PT instructors who are responsible for military and physical training of Cadets. The College has an elaborate administrative setup for smooth functioning of routine activities.

Curriculum

The College follows the syllabus laid down by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan. The medium of instruction is English. The subjects taught in the College at SSC level are Urdu, English, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Biology. The College offers Pre-Medical, Pre- Engineering and ICS courses for Intermediate classes.

The laboratories are equipped with the latest apparatuses.
Class tests and terminal examinations are planned at regular intervals.
Cadet's progress is assessed and complete record of their academic performance and overall conduct is sent to the parents at the end of each term. A Cadet failing twice in the same class will be expelled from the College.

Academic Promotion Criteria:

a. 60 % marks in each subject shall be considered Passing Marks for all Home Examinations conducted by the College.
b. A cadet who fails in more than one subject in two terminal examinations or Annual Examination shall repeat the same class.
c. Any Cadet securing less than 60 % marks in the Pre-Board / Send up exams will not appear in the Board Exam and shall repeat the same class.

Discipline

The College Discipline regime is characterized by corrective measures in a graduated program, thereby enabling them to improve upon conduct and demeanor, as enshrined the College Rules and within acceptable norms of society.

Conceptual Parameters:

Moral grooming, awareness about cultural and social norms and College Rules.

Continual process of improving individual responses through reviewed curriculum, regular moral and religious teachings and strict accountability.

Corrective measures , to include academic penalties, routine restriction and physical exercises , aimed at realization and self-assessment.

Penalizing with minor punishments for warning.

Rustication, as a last resort, for repeated violations or single issue of grave nature/consequences.

Violating Code of Conduct:

Some of the violations which are against College rules are as under :

Keeping unauthorized items e.g Mobile Phones, Electric appliances, USB/Hard drives, Knives, Cooking/ Heating appliances etc.

Over Staying leave.

Coming late from weekend, vacations and leave.

Bunking from College, Classes or any other routine activities.

Addressing a fellow cadet with indecent / abusive language.

Fake Medical Chits/ Medical Documents/ Fake Medical Attend/ Tempering Doctor’s Disposal / Report Sick Book.

Violation of Instructions of PT/Drill Instructors and College Appointments during routine activities.

Denying orders of faculty members in Classrooms /Houses /not doing homework /creating disturbance in class or in Houses.

Missing from PT/Drill ,Games or any other College Fall-in.

Loss of College ID Card.

Grave misconducts / Offences :

Misbehaving with Faculty members /Staff

Using Cheating / Helping material or copying from fellow Cadets material.

Stealing /Destroying Answer Sheet.

Smoking / Snuff / Gutka / Alcohol etc.

Damage to College Property.

Fraud /Forgery /Theft.

Fighting with fellow Cadet.

Immoral Acts (of any kind).

College Fee/ Dues

Matriculation/SSC (Science)

NOTE

Candidates appearing in Maths during entrance examination will not be eligible for the pre medical group and candidates appearing in Biology during entrance examination will not be eligible for the pre engineering group at the time of admission

Entrance Tests are planned at Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, D.I.Khan, Kohat, Abottabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi. However minimum of twenty five candidates are required for a station to be declared as center otherwise the candidates will be allotted the next nearest center. Admission will be granted purely based on the merit after written examination, interview and medical examination.

Self-Finance Scheme Only:

Candidates next on the merit list after filling in open merit, KPK/FATA specific seats, Defense and College employee quota, if opted for self finance, shall be given admission under the scheme. Candidates selected under this scheme will be required to pay Rs. 250000.00 (non refundable), for admission to class XI and Rs. 400000.00 (non refundable) for admission to class VIII over and above the other fees/dues at the time of admission only.

Allocation of Seats

Each entry will comprise 130 students. The allocation of seats is as under:

NOTE

Overseas Candidates : Overseas candidates will be eligible but will have to appear at centers in Pakistan.
Quota Seats : Vacant Seats will be allotted to candidates desirous of admission under Self Finance Scheme.

ADMISSIONS POLICY

a. Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi considers boys for admission based on their academic performance and suitability.

b. Entrance exams are held once a year for Class 8th in November and for Class 11th between May and August at various locations across the country.

c. No lateral admission is permitted under college rules.

d. Successful candidates in written examination proceed to a Panel Interview, which includes psychological and subject assessments, and are then evaluated for medical fitness by the College SMO.

e. After passing all these evaluations, candidates are placed on the merit list according to the College's Quota system, as outlined in the Allocation of Seats.

f. In Class 8th, a few seats are open to self-finance candidates from those who have successfully completed the admission process. However, in Class 11th, all vacant seats are exclusively filled on a self-finance basis.

Eligibility & Selection Procedure Class VIII

The required age for the candidate must be between 12 to 14 years on 1st April at the time of admissioin.

Candidates who have passed Class VII at the time of admission. Moreover, students studying in class VIII are also eligible for admission.

During the entrance test, candidates will be examined in English, Mathematics / General Science, Urdu & Islamiat.

The candidates who qualify the written test will be required to apper in the interview, psychometric test and medical examination.However, this qualification does not reflect merit for final selection.

Eligibility & Selection Procedure Class XI

The required age for the candidate must be between 15 to 17 years on 1st July at the time of admissioin.

Candidates who have passed Class X with minimum of 80% marks, or have appeared in the Class X board examinations can apply with the certificate from head of the institution that the candidate is most likely to secure over 80% marks.

During the entrance test, candidates will be examined in English, Mathematics / Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Urdu.

Students studying in first year or registered in any BISE are not eligible.

Attach three envelopes (postal tokens pasted) along with the Application Form.

Attach Bank slip of Entrance Examination Fee & Form Charges if Downloaded from College Website

Submit Form by Hand or send through Postal Services on the Address: Principal, Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College at Village Ismaila, Swabi.

Issuance of Roll Number by post or may download from College Website.
